Costs: $16.00 ($20 at door), $6-$7 beer, wine

This event will be held in a separate section of the Fairmont’s main floor lounge area with plenty of room to sit or stand. If the weather is warm, the festivities can be moved to an enclosed, outdoor patio. Chef-selected, lite and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served from a buffet; beer, wine and sodas can be purchased from a separate Happy Hour listing. The ambiance of the setting will create a terrific opportunity for socializing. For those interested in dinner afterwards there is a restaurant next to the patio.

Getting to the Fairmont at the corner of “M” and 24^th Streets, NW:

By Metro: Take the Blue or Orange Line to the Foggy Bottom Station, walk four blocks to hotel traveling north on 23^rd St for three blocks, left or west on “M” St for one block.
By car: One can arrive at the hotel by remembering that “M” St runs one-way to the west, “L: St runs one-way east, and that Pennsylvania Ave, 24^th, 25^th, and “N” Sts are all two-way.
Parking: Street parking is usually available on “N” St between 24^th and 25^th Sts. Most nearby parking garages are pricy, but one lower-cost garage has been spotted on “M” near the confluence of “M” St, New Hampshire Ave, and 21^stSt, NW. This well-marked, PMI garage can be found on the north side of “M” between 21^st and 22^nd Sts, NW. After 5:00pm, the five to midnight parking charge is $6.00. The Fairmont is a short two-block walk west along “M.”

Next ISP Event: Sunday, May 18, 2008: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary with visitor center, hike led by expert guide, followed by a bring-your-own picnic. Area is 15 miles east of the Capital beltway (Rte 495) on Rte 4 along the Patuxent River.

Ivy Singles Plus (formerly Ivy Over 50 Singles,) sponsored by the Yale Club of Washington, is a voluntary organization of mature single men and women who are graduates of Ivy League and other premier colleges and universities. The club organizes events in the Washington, D.C. area so that members can meet together throughout the year and invites to membership over-50 singles and their guests who have an interest in participating in a variety of stimulating intellectual, social, cultural, and athletic outings. Members are expected to attend these events as singles.
